The Problem

If you don’t have a PhD in Poultry, it’s almost impossible to decipher the misleading labels on products. Despite propaganda, conventional poultry farming is virtually unregulated, as poultry is excluded from federal animal protections that govern beef and pork industries. What does this look like? Thousands of birds kept in artificially-lit sheds with little or no outdoor access. Their grain and soy-based feeds are often medicated to control parasites, promote muscle growth, and prevent diseases that arise in this environment.
