A lot of the oats grown in the U.S. come from the Pacific Northwest, an area that is becoming more and more prone to drought. In fact, 2021 brought the smallest oat crop the U.S. has ever seen. Commercial rolled oats are also steamed before rolling, increasing their shelf life. This makes them flavorless and bland, and decreases their nutrient content.
Gianforte's rolled oats are raw oats. Post-harvest processing includes de-hulling, or taking the outer husk off of the oat kernel, and then rolling. They're grown locally in Cazenovia, NY where they get plenty of natural rainfall to grow healthily. They travel a short few miles to you making them fresher and tastier than store bought oats. Plus, they don't contribute to the global drought problem!
