Sweet Potato & Turnip Mash

  • 4 turnips
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sage
  • Sea salt
  • 5 medjool dates (optional)


  1. Wash, peel and chop the turnips. Wash and chop the sweet potatoes to roughly the same size as the chopped turnips.
  2. Steam turnips and sweet potatoes until super tender, about 12-15 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat/steam and let the steamed vegetables sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer the vegetables to a bowl and mash.
  5. Mix in the olive oil, sage and sea salt until combined.
  6. Top with the chopped dates.
  7. Serve immediately and store in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator.
