Join Local Roots team member Ansel Shipley for a virtual workshop on sustainable meat. Meet our meat farmers, learn the meaning of what truly defines “sustainable” in the meat industry, get insight into the various cuts that make up a cow, and get cooking tips from our resident meat expert.
Sign up for the event here.
We will email participants with a zoom link to the class the week of February 18th.
About Ansel:
Ansel grew up in Northern New York on a small subsistence farm steeped in sustainable organic agriculture. After moving to NYC in 2017, inspired by their upbringing around New York small farmers, they began training as a butcher at Dickson's Farmstand Meats in Chelsea Market. Ansel spent several years honing their craft at Fleishers Craft Butchery and managed the Brooklyn shop from 2019-2020. In June of 2020 they joined the Local Roots team as the Operations Team Lead where they manage the warehouse staff packing the markets and home delivery boxes.
Local Roots Experiences are fun, pop-up events where we bring the farm to you!
