Can You Use Cilantro Stems?

November 11, 2022

27% of all food waste happens in the consumer's kitchen. This is because, we're not using the entirety of our produce. Watch Wen-Jay discuss more here.

Cilantro is one veggie that's often not entirely used. Most people don't know the stems on cilantro are also edible and actually have more flavor than the leaves.

Here are some ways we love to use cilantro stems:

  • chopped in pico de gallo
  • blended in salsa verde or chimichurri
  • diced to garnish a soup
  • mixed into Chinese dishes like stir fry or salads

Be sure you use the whole herb next time you buy cilantro!
