Pizza dough
Garlic scapes
Basil
Walnuts
lemon
Parmesan
Cheese (mozz, asiago, cheddar--anything that melts well)
Directions
For the pesto: Roughly chop 4-5 garlic scapes and add to a food processor with a handful of walnuts, a squeeze of lemon juice, grated Parmesan, one bunch of basil, and begin pulsing, adding olive oil. Stop, scrape down the bowl of the food processor and continue to add splashes of olive oil and blend until you like the consistency of the pesto. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Preheat the oven to 500F or the hottest your oven goes. Stretch the pizza dough out and put on an oiled baking tray. Spread the pesto on the dough, grate cheese on top, and lay whole garlic scapes on top in a pretty pattern.
Pop in the oven and bake until the cheese is melting and bubbling and the dough is a golden brown.
