Matt and wife Jessie, owners and operators of Primordia Farms, went mushroom foraging on their first date, so you know that with them, mushrooms are just business -- they’re personal. And that’s why we love them so much.
The care and dedication they have to growing the best mushrooms, as well as to the environment, is evident in everything they do - from their custom barns built by from post-consumer upcycled materials by Matt and his friends and family, to the substrate they use to grow their ‘shrooms (which is upcycled from a local saw mill), to the care they take in selecting and cultivating the 6 medicinal and culinary mushrooms they grow. With all of the personal attention their fungi receive, Primordia ensures the best quality, unmatched freshness, and explosive flavors, which is why restaurants like Eleven Madison Park seek out Matt and Jessie. Between the small scale of their operation - intentionally small to minimize carbon footprint and maximize attention and care - and the stiff competition, we feel privileged to be able to provide our members with the best of the best mushrooms.
